Shared Ownership Week Success

Shared Ownership WeekShared Ownership Week proves a great success for Housing Associations & purchasers across London. Generating almost 4,000 website hits and over 400 registrations on the L&Q PricedIn site, along with a huge increase in people interacting via our social media pages - taking our Facebook following to over 2,500 - we are delighted with the positive impact the week has had on peoples views of Shared Ownership and L&Q.

Throughout the week, as some of you may have spotted, L&Q featured heavily in supplements such as the Metro and City AM. The weeks Timeout edition featured Jerome Geoghegan, Group Director, explaining what Shared Ownership is and why its making a positive difference. In addition to this, Lucy Chitty, Assistant Director Sales was interviewed on BBC London Radio to kick-off the week and highlight how Shared Ownership works.

During the week, some L&Q purchasers shared their buying experience. Pete who bought a one-bedroom apartment at The City Mills, Haggerston said: L&Q were so helpful at every stage of the moving process. I had so many odd questions but these were all answered nobody at work even noticed I was buying a flat as I was so relaxed! Im actually saving money compared to if I was renting and I have a home to really be proud of.

Pop up clinics successfully educated staff members and the public alike about how to get on the property ladder with Shared Ownership. Our marketing team has beaten the likes of Savills and Redrow to win In-house Marketing Team of the Year at the Property Marketing Awards Page Content Run in partnership with Estates Gazette, this is one of the most prestigious awards in the calendar and is a fantastic achievement for the team.

Industry leader

Made up of eight members, the marketing team is delighted and extremely proud to have been recognised as a leader in the industry. Delivering successful creative advertising solutions and campaigns such as PricedIn along with bespoke marketing identities for each private sale development, reinforces L&Qs commitment to deliver a first-rate service to our customers and firmly establishes the marketing team as a force to be reckoned with within the industry.

The judges at the Property Marketing Awards said: The winner in this category stood out because what they produced was not what you would expect from property marketing. The team had the challenge of reaching a very broad audience from its housing association roots to private developers."

"The hallmark of a skilled marketing team is to be able to address a broad range of audiences, and this submission showed that. They took a very new approach with their Priced-In campaign which focussed unusually on how to purchase educating first-time buyers on the benefits of shared ownership. The traditional print collateral was nicely executed with more innovative comms in the mix.  This contrasted with the more highbrow approach taken for The Schoolyard.

L&Qs Marketing Team are extremely honoured to be shortlisted for the In-house Marketing Team of the year award at the Property Marketing Awards 2014.

Celebrating the very best in the property marketing industry, these awards recognise innovation, creativity and the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and teams.

Made up of 8 members, our Marketing Team manages the L&Q customer journey from lead generation and registrations through to events, PR, and the production of all marketing collateral including Show Flats and Marketing Suites for our intermediate market rent (IMR), Shared Ownership, and Private Sale developments.
With the challenge of marketing a wide range of properties to a broad audience in a competitive market, the Marketing Team deliver creative advertising solutions and campaigns such as PricedIn to highlight our commitment to provide affordable home ownership and educate our target market on the benefits of Shared Ownership.

For Private Sale developments, bespoke marketing identities are created for each development to favourably position the key selling points, location, specification of the scheme in order to achieve sales targets.
We are shortlisted against Savills and Redrow and the winners will be announced on the 26th June fingers crossed for L&Q!

PricedIn gets a facelift

PricedIn logoWith over 5,000 leads generated last year, resulting in over 320 Shared Ownership sales we are pleased to announce that the PricedIn campaign will be continuing for another year. Albeit with a refined look and feel, the principle behind the campaign will remain the same; to explain and simplify the Shared Ownership process and ensure Londoners are fully aware of the benefits to them.

After carrying out focus groups with potential first time buyers and parents of first time buyers to help ensure our PricedIn message resonates with our target audience, we adapted the creative and updated the copy to reflect their feedback.

What's more, during 2013 we commissioned a comprehensive survey to investigate the current options for first time buyers trying to get on the property ladder and found that 70% of those saving towards a deposit have abandoned their attempts, instead spending the cash on holidays, cars or simply to cover bills as the current downturn extinguishes their property plans.

With this in mind, there has never been a better time to continue to drive momentum with the PricedIn campaign and help buyers better understand Shared Ownership.

To date the campaign has been a resounding success, and with a big push planned 2014 including press adverts in The Metro and Evening Standard along with online presence on Facebook, YouTube, Gumtree and stands booked at the First Time Buyer and Share to Buy events, we hope to continue to build brand awareness in 2014.
