Merger talks

May 04 2016

David Montague

You may have heard that we’ve been discussing a possible merger with two other housing associations: The Hyde Group and East Thames Housing Group.

If the merger goes ahead, L&Q will merge with Hyde and East Thames to create a brand new housing organisation, probably by the end of 2016.

The new organisation will be in a much stronger position to:

  • Deliver better and easier access to services
  • Provide good quality homes
  • Build 100,000 new homes over the next ten years
  • Help to meet the need for more homes in London and the wider South East

We’ll post updates on our website and our Facebook page when we have new information to share. We’ll also publish online a summary of the feedback we get from you and other customers.

In the meantime, there are no changes to the relationship L&Q has with you, so please continue to pay your rent and get in touch in the usual way.

This is the start of our formal consultation with you on our proposals to merge. It gives you the chance to share your views with us. Doing this means you can influence the final decision our Board will take on whether to merge and how best to bring the three organisations together.

We have created a list of the most frequently asked questions on our website. If you have any other questions, comments or feedback please get in touch with us by 22 June 2016. You can contact us by:
